Beng Hock travesty – “time" to act

In property investment, they say location is everything. In share trading, they say timing is everything.

So is politics.

Suicide note here there and everywhere

So now we have an earth shattering, heart stopping but very slow in emerging suicide note that would change the direction of a national soap drama played out and played on the grief of the Teoh family?

Suicide notes are hard to come by. It is not everyday that we write one for ourselves so THAT note must be very very precious, right?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.malaysia-chronicle.com/2010/08/blog-post_9938.html

Signature, handwriting on 'note' not Beng Hock's, says his family

Wong Choon Mei, Malaysia Chronicle In a dramatic turn of events, the family of Teoh Beng Hock has disputed the handwriting on the note that Attorney-General Gani Patail claims was a "suicide" note, saying it was obvious the signature and the writing was not Beng Hock’s.

"The family pointed out to me multiple discrepancies in the handwriting in the note, which mainly includes Chinese characters and some words in English, which are in stark contrast to the handwriting of Teoh Beng Hock, both in Chinese and English, in documents written by him before his untimely and tragic death,” their lawyer Karpal Singh said in a statement

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Breaking news, in Berlin, a homeless man said he found this suicide note neatly kept in a leather bag and wanted big money for it. It purportedly read as follows:-

Farewell, my brave noble Germans. Today the damn Russians, Americans and British are banging into our beloved Berlin. We Germans have fought valiantly but I have been betrayed by my own generals, by rich & smart minority in our country and darn better technology found in foreign countries. I shall have one last round of merriment with Eva and not let them take me alive.

Believe me, the British have beaten us in our national sport today, but we will beat them in their national sport tomorrow and conquer the world!

Farewell,
Adolf H.
1945

Note:
The writer was unerringly right. West Germany went on to win the World Cup in 1954.

Meanwhile in Florida, a trash collector has claimed that he had stumbled upon a piece of suicide note which read as follows:

Life has been a thriller for me. For those who have hurt me, I have been telling them to beat it. I tried to look for my Billie Jean to no avail but at least the champs are my sons.

People been telling me they can't tell if I am black or white but regardless of race, religion and sexual orientation, we are the world and let's make love not war.

But I am so tired, so tired of little children saying I am bad, so tired of looking at my nose and all those debts .... oh I guest I just beat it and leave all the troubles behind

Mikey J.

So what? Another man in Washington was allegedly heard sniggering as he read out from a pink sheet as such:

Dear Johnny F.

Singing for your birthday on TV was the greatest joy in my life. You are the greatest man I have ever .......... Whenever I am alone and naked I remember us [ he did not read on ] and [ the fellow also did not read on ]

But darling, life is too hard for me and I do not want to see myself grow old. I want to be remembered as the sexiest and most beautiful around....so darling I am sorry to leave you.

Forever,
Norma

The self-censoring party spoiler said he can part the letter for USD100,000 and the highest bidder can read all the juicy lines himself.

Can you believe all these nonsense?

Political and economic costs of Teoh Beng Hock case

It is a bit difficult for me to write with a detached mindset on this one but I have to give it a go....

The latest Revelation of a suicide note purportedly written by Teoh Beng Hock has thrown the whole inquest into disarray and causing great anger for Gorbind Singh and re-open the deepest wound of the Teoh family.

We respect and, in deserving cases, honour the dead, not to heap more disrespect on the dead and more hurt on the living.

pix from Oriental Daily

Richard Loh in his excellent write up eloquently sum up the possibility that it is a fabrication. Channel News Asia, the Singapore official news channel, reported that Gorbind Singh considered citing Abdul Ghani Patail for contempt.

All I have to add is that:

1) suicide notes are meant to be found and if a note is meant to be discovered after 2 months, and held in secrecy over a year, then the time it took for the note to surface render its authencity extremely doubtful

2) the first instance of this suicide note was revealed by Jaringan Melayu Malaysia here .

Siasat surat terakhir Beng Hock

syahrir.bakar@utusan.com.my

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How come this website have exclusive access into withheld evidence not even available to Teoh Beng Hock's counsel or, MACC who is clinging on to dear life defending itself?

Has JMM breached any Official Secret Act provision, contempt of legal proceedings etc?

Nazri, the de facto Law Minister seems to be silent on all this.

3) JMM has explicitly claim that one of the defense counsel, Tan Hock Chuan, has concealed the suicide note.

http://jaringanmelayumal.blogspot.com/2010/07/benarkah-peguam-sembunyikan-surat-teoh.html

In one stroke, JMM cited Tan Hock Chuan has withheld evidence, committed contempt of the Inquest, conspire (with who?) to threaten the peace of the country.

Ask any Malaysian Chinese whether they will attack Malays en mass over Teoh Beng Hock incident hoping for some action and you will be extremely dissappointed. There are other ways to get back than just wanton violence.

This is 2010, not 1969 and please do not insult the respect Chinese have for peace, law and order. We Chinese have to work and fend for our families, paying taxes along the way that keep Putrajaya humming and happy.

If what JMM claim is true, then Tan Hock Chuan is an ISA case.

On the other hand, Tan Hock Chuan has a case for slander against JMM if Tan Hock Chuan feels that his integrity, professionalism and reputation is unfairly tarnished by this allegation. He should defend it by filing a suit against JMM.

I ponder what has this episode cost Malaysia and Malaysians?

Millions of ringgit has been wasted on MACC officials who

1) can't co-operate with helpful witnesses but let him die in MACC office; as a result, they have to incure unnecessary office move expenses

2) tarnish the name of the country by threatening a respected Asean forensic expert by lodging a police report against her and resulting in delay in her arrival (remember, delay cause losses - time is money)

3) until today we do not know what crime Teoh Beng Hock died for - a damning indictment of the MACC's effectiveness in combating corruption; or is there a wrong doing in the first place?

4) millions of ringgit has been wasted on the inquest and MACC is diverted from doing real work that can benefit the nation, the simple concept of opportunity cost

Barry Wain has written extensively about Mahatir's dismantling of the Malaysian judiciary in his book. This legacy has led to Lingamgate, Sodomy II and this freakshow. The eyes of the world is upon us.

A functioning judiciary and justice system is critical in attracting foreign direct investment which will help Malaysia ahieve Vision 2020 or high income nation or whatever fancy equivalent term being flaunted at voters.

FDI has declined by unprecedent, alarming and blood-chilling 80% in 2009. If this is not a wake up call, I do not know what is.

The real culprits who is draining the nation dry everyday are not apprehended. No action has been taken despite damning revelation in the Auditor General's reports or even straight in your face all for you to see evidence like the collapsing stadium in Terengganu, cracking and re-cracking MRR II, etc.

Perhaps even more significant is the sentiment among Chinese voters. "You help me I help you" campaigning or is it NFA vote buying may work sometime but not all the time.

Chinese, in addition to economic well being, also value justice and fairness. Chinese also like to see matters settled in a swift, fuss-free and fair way so that things can move on.

Dragging on the road show, hurting again and again a devastated family of broken hearts, reminding and angering a group of voters with simmering anger, could prove telling in the next GE, unless with pure tactical genius, a "surprise present" can be presented to the community just before the GE.

However, given the communal nature of Malaysian politics, there is a very delicate and difficult balancing act that has to be played out.

Unless we move on to meritocracy, need-base and just basis of governance then this kind of pointless game can be rendered obsolete.

Pakatan Rakyat's campaign for PRU13 is up and running well

I chuckled when I read this

Muhyiddin: All can form own ‘Perkasa’
By Yoges Palaniappan
July 13, 2010

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today that anyone was free to form an association, including Chinese or Indian versions of the Malay rights group, Perkasa.
“We can have Chinese Perkasa and even Indian Perkasa,” he said today.

He said that it was an individual’s right to form an association and it was acceptable as long as it was formed with good intentions.

“The government does not stop anyone from forming a body,” he told reporters after officiating the second Asean School Games at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium today.

Muhyiddin was responding to reports quoting MCA vice president Datuk Donald Lim as suggesting the formation of a “Chinese Perkasa” in response to the Malay rights group’s strident rhetoric and race-based demands.

Perkasa has grown from a one-man cause to include thousands of Malays who feel disaffected by proposed economic reforms that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak wants to use to turn Malaysia into a high-income nation for a plural society.

It has managed to influence Najib into continuing with an affirmative action policy for Bumiputeras, despite having signalled that his New Economic Model (NEM) is for all Malaysians, under his 1 Malaysia concept.

Ibrahim has used Perkasa to form an umbrella body called the Malay Consultative Council (MPM) and has received the support of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Perkasa’s demands for what it says are Malay rights has caused unease among some non-Malays, as well as moderate and liberal Malays who see the group as racist.

Muhyiddin said today Perkasa was not funded by Umno, but by independent Pasir Mas MP Ibrahim Ali, who “might want to fight for Malay rights”.

He said that when forming an organisation, individuals must take into account the country’s best interests.

An organisation cannot be formed to attack one another. It must have a common interest which appeals to the majority of people” he stressed.

MCA leaders yesterday distanced themselves from Lim’s suggestion, pointing out that it was his personal view.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has called Lim’s suggestion “ridiculous,” saying a Chinese Perkasa would only fan racial tension.

He said earlier today that Lim’s call also did not gel with Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now we know, a vote for Barisan Nasional is a vote for DPM's argument above. What makes him think that there are many Malaysians of various races have the same kind of gutter racist mentality like Ibrahim Ali who can only repeatedly yelled "don't talk shit" at Al Jazeera - a great showcase of Malaysia to the world? Zainuddin remembered.

I take this as an insult to Malaysians' mental capacity.

I made this for Ibrahim Ali, hope he likes it

Najib's continuing silence does not make him look good. He has let some racist outsiders who know very much less than the authors of the NEM to overwrite a potential legacy builder. He also let his number 2 openly revolted against him and trampled all over his much touted rallying call to the nation and not to mention a substantial investment of tax payers' money.

Perkasa is allowed to run riot by Najib administration and I hold Najib administration responsible for the environment we live in. Under Najib's watch, we have broken new grounds:

1) death of Teoh Beng Hock and subsequent disgusting attempts to frustrate justice; and until today, just what was the corruption case MACC was working on?

2) Malaysia has experience religious terrorism for the first time; and at the rate it's going, I doubt that anyone will be found guilty

3) first time I see a Finance Minister messed up a Bursa Malaysia announcement (and subsequent non-enforcement of penalities under the listing rules) and how well this fit into our effort to promote foreign investment, corporate governance and credibility of our finance industry is anybody's guess

4) power grab in Perak and the subsequent usage of various statutory machinery and facility to frustrate the democratic process (including physical harming of an innocent tree)

Well, the voters and tax payers can enjoy the road show and, if only the implications are not so deadly serious, we can laugh it out but our future, security, welfare and livelihood and our children's same are at stake. When Idris Jala said by 2019 Malaysia will go bankrupt, I think the omitted first part of the sentence should be "IF MALAYSIANS ALLOW THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION TO CONTINUE...." well not said, chaps.

Opening up MACC for Chinese applicants....

MACC’s recent invitation for Chinese to apply for 40 vacancies in the agency initially sounds cool to me. 400 applicants vying for 40 positions. Definitely it is the right step in strengthening the resource available within its stable; removing the long held impression that civil service is mono-ethnic dominated as well as the notion that Malaysian Chinese shun a career in public service.

It is definitely a right step in the right direction. For the bright brain who once remarked that MACC is a Malay institution following the uproar associated with Teoh Beng Hock’s shocking and hitherto unresolved episode, you can take that remark and stuff it back to what appears to be a hole in your face.

Race card played over Teoh’s death shows Umno’s desperation
By Syed Jaymal Zahiid

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 — Umno is not above playing the racial card when it comes to getting what it wants. Take the case of Teoh Beng Hock and the article written by New Straits Times Group managing editor Zainul Ariffin in the Berita Harian.

Zainul likened the criticism levelled at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as an attempt by certain quarters to weaken a Malay institution. It's no mystery or secret who these "certain quarters" he was referring to are and the question many opposition leaders and the public have been asking is this: since when did the MACC become a Malay institution

Footnote: I don't think he was suspended or sacked whereas the China Press Editor got into a huge pot of hot soup over some misreporting of Musa Hassan's resignation.

What, I wonder, was the reason for this turn of events? The timing of the announcement was interesting – in the midst of campaigning for predominantly Chinese votes constituency of Sibu by-election. I think this is a logical and intelligent tactical move.

Also, I remember vaguely someone shot off a remark following the Teoh Beng Hock uproar whereby so and so mentioned that MACC is suffering from an “image problem” whereupon I suppose what he meant was it did not look nice when a group of Malay MACC officers went after the Chinese Ex-Cos in the Selangor State Government. It might be easier on the eye if only Chinese MACC officers went after Chinese Ex-COs.

Rubbish, corruption is corruption and I don’t care about the race of the enforcers, suspects and wrong doers. As long as criminals are caught and the welfare of the nation is safeguarded, whether one is yellow, brown, black, polka dot do not matter.

I suppose this is a follow up on Najib’s pledge to his plea to the Chinese community to “give us a chance” as well as the resultant MACC’s “reaching out to the Chinese” drive.

Well, at least some effort is being put into clearing up the mess left by decades of race-base politics. I suppose a racist approach had to be taken but I hate to put it this way: MACC : Make Available Chinese Concession?

Understandably, while this piece of news made headlines in all Chinese press, Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian have chosen other topics as their front page news. Ibrahim Ali, Perkasa and their friends protest as much about this as they protested about celibacy perhaps – ziltch. And did we hear anything from Hindraf?

Maybe this is also a round about way by MACC is trying to say "sorry about Teoh Beng Hock."

EXCUSE ME, HOW MUCH MONEY MR TEOH BENG HOCK DIED FOR?
WHAT IS MACC'S CASE AGAINST TEOH BENG HOCK AFTER MONTHS OF DELAY?

please account to the public how much corruption was committed, please

The damage is already done. Months of denial, their own officers hampering the inquest process including lodging police report against respected foreign forensic experts who offered her assistance have left an indelible mark on my mind.

Najib administration also know it is crucial to have non-Malay votes hence there will be no more “Keris Waving” nonsense and a more sophisticated publicity campaign is crucial in getting non-Malay votes. So what is the driving force behind the recruitment cum public relationship stunt I wonder?

If the recruitment is meant to improve the service level of MACC then it is a fundamental statement about the quality of human resource available. Remember Mr Wong Chuan How, Ronnie Liu's PA? He gathered the documents and walked out of his office with MACC officers when another group pounced on and injured him. Few months later, someone connected to the court hearing told me the court did not fund a creditable case at all.

I wish to see change of substance taken place within MACC and real results; not cosmetic, superficial, feel good thingy ala “Work With Me And Not For Me”, ”Cekap, Bersih dan Amanah”, “Wawasan 2020” which have proven to fall well short of the grand promises made.

Call me old fashioned, I want to see big fishes in the slammer, stolen wealth returned to the national coffers and huge cases being accounted for to the public. The billions in PKFTZ, the tin market manipulation in the 1980’s that caused the collapse of our tin mining industry hence wealth and a proud history of our country, MATRADE, MAIKA, the huge losses highlighted in the annual Auditor General’ reports, the amount of sunken commission paid to a private company that has no experience and no business in buying submarines and having access into national defense matters….while the rakyat have to bear with inadequate public amenities all over Malaysia, like Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah (a corpman in a fox hole in Iwo Jima can care better for a patient than this lot).

I like to see a graft fighting body that is accountable to the Parliament and rakyat and not to the Prime Minister. I like to see an anti-corruption agency that is not a political tool which was very efficient in arresting 2 state lawmakers and then somehow perform ever so miserably in court at persecuting them – waste of public funds again.

I also wish to thank those Malaysian voters who on 8 March forced a change in the BN’s think tank and also Pakatan Rakyat for their emergence as an alternative worth serious consideration. I wish to express my gratitude in sorrow solemn prayer to Mr. Teoh Beng Hock, whose death turned the tide in more ways than one, and in a far fetch way, created this 40 job opportunities for needy Malaysians that may signify greater things to come.

Dear Mrs Teoh, Happy Mother's Day.

Lastly, I wish the applicants all the best and for those who got the 2 year provision contracts, selamat bertugas whether you are in the investigation, legal and persecution, human resource and administration, public education, intelligence etc divisions.

Dear Home Minister, I want Porn

Salam all,

I know everyone is busy recovering from the HS by-election, and prepping for Sibu. But we really need to push for Dr. Porntip to come. And the only way she can be released by her Ministry of Justice is to get a written assurance from the Home Affairs Ministry here (Hisham).

And the only way we can get them to give those assurances is for the public/opposition to pressure Hisham to give a written assurance. The StateGovt has already written a letter to request for this letter, and so far, no response. So I appeal to you to make use of your various networks/blogs/twitter/Facebook/friends/media links to do exactly this: pressure Hisham. If not, it looks like it will be "Open Verdict", or worse, "suicide". This is the only chance we have left.

Thanks all,
Tricia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Home Minister,

As a patriotic Malaysian who cannot bear to see the reputation of my country sink any lower than I can ever imagine at the moment, and in accordance with basic justice principle and civility, I urge the late Teoh Beng Hock be accorded a legal process that would have be reasonable and mundane in all normal court of law accross the world - that the witness of his legal aid team's choice be heard in the hearing

Do you know that in the little red dot down south, a Malaysian born Singapore Permanent Resident was killed by a reckless foreign diplomat, and the Singapore government has conducted a swift and thorough inquest, exerted proper pressure through the right diplomatic channel and contacted the Interpol to bring the despictable, evasive, excuse-laden culprit to the book?

A Malaysian gets better pembelaan from a foreign government so despised by your own former leader.

While the voting Hulu Selangor people can get all the funding, parties and attention at the expense of all other Malaysians, I urge you to to write a guarantee letter in a nice letter head (that would cost less than RM10, not need those millions in HS) and show the world that Malaysia is a country that respect justice, have nothing to hide and welcomes foreign talent

I am sure this would score you some brownie points with many Malaysians. You got nothing to lose.

Racializing corruption

This country's institutions are getting more and more ridiculous.

Corruption is a criminal matter and in the aftermath of Teoh Beng Hock's incident, it is easy for commentators to point out that MACC appear to be a political tool.

Now I am absolutely flabbergasted by this,

MACC aims for support, speaks to the Chinese

MACC needs to public's support to combat corruption, not "Chinese support".

UMNO might need Chinese support, MCA might need Malay support, MIC might need ...I don''t know what they need, but MACC needs public support and independence.

I look at this development from different perspective to try and understand how this situation arises.

1) is MACC admitting that previously it has been pissing off the Chinese community by focusing on Chinese politicians?

2) if there is a solid case of corruption, MACC need not worry about pissing off the Chinese hence need to pacify them. You don't see PDRM launching an "Indian hears and minds road show" after Kugan's case garner spotlight.

3) in Malaysia, race base political gamemanship is the reality of life. MACC has openly declare it's participation into this arena hence is this an indication that MACC is very much a part of the political game and a tool when it's noble purpose is suppose to be combating corruption where this ailment cut across racial lines?

4) MACC appears to be suffering from want of leadership and sense of direction. Has this got anything to do with Badawi's last act of his premiership where the act was rushed through Parliament or has more to do with the instruction given by the MACC's new boss?

5) At the onset of Teoh Beng Hock's case, some bright brains commented that MACC is "a Malay institution,

now MACC is running to Chinese community for support? What does Perkasa has to say about this? Is this the ground work for the next GE?

I just hope MACC focus on what it should be doing, banish corruption regardless of political affiliation, race, religion and what not. An act of corruption is an act of corruption. Period

The fate of 3 helpful witnesses

My friend recently got in a cab in KLIA and had the misfortune to catch a 70 year old cabbie in a foul mood. What he told my friend that got to me can be unprintable but he did mention a point that I find pertinent.

"When we read newspapers" he said, "read many stories and try to link them together to see what's developing."

Can't disagree with him. I got off my lazy ass, plow through some newspaper and decided to look at the fate of 3 helpful Malaysians in aid of the Malaysian legal process.

The first chap is Mr. Teoh Beng Hock. MACC officially declared that he is or was a witness in their probe and it is not of MACC's interest that he is dead. Well dead he is and he died in MACC premises. If this is how MACC treats helpful witness, then they are literally killing off their sources of information.

The second chap is Mr. Wong Chuan How, PA to YB Ronnie Liu. According to reports in Chinese newspapers, Mr. Wong received request for evidence from MACC. He duly prepared the relevant documents and waited at his service centre yesterday (Friday).

MACC officers arrive at 9am (bravo, a bunch of motivated civil servants for a change). 5 officers (a number considered necessary in MACC's SOP to confront one 50 year old man, I suppose?) went up to the office and requested Mr. Wong to follow them back to Putrajaya. Mr. Wong decided to follow Selangor Menteri Besar's instruction to get his lawyer to accompany him to the MACC office and in this case, it was YB Cha Kee Chin, ADUN for Bukit Kepayang.

In YB Cha's words, "Wong was very co-operative, had all the documents prepared and waited 'respectfully' in the location and at the time as instructed by MACC."

Mr. Wong wanted to lodge a report at Sungai Pelek Police Station before going to Putrajaya. A bit tedious but given what happen to Mr. Teoh and MB's advice, it sounds prudent and orderly to me. Anyway the MACC officers agreed with this.

Unfortunately, when Mr. Wong walked out of the office, the 3 officers who waited outside his office proceeded to grab him and in the ensuing struggle, injured Mr. Wong.

Here are some photos that Utusan Malaysia missed out:

We all know the value of co-workers communicating properly at work but the above is just SNAFU (Situation Normal All F...... Up)

I suppose if you are in the wrong you apologise but what did MACC do? Instead of fruit basket and flowers to hospitals, they upgrade Mr. Wong's status from being a witness to a suspect as according to the Star today, "MACC director of investigation Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull confirmed Mr. Wong's arrest".

Er...pardon my ignorance, a suspect would run when he sees the law, and not prepare evidence to incriminate himself, right?

The third chap is a certain Dr. Khairul. He is so certain and helpful in offering his professional judgement and conclusion that he voluntarily demonstrated in THAT inquiry how a sleepy Teoh Beng Hock could have opened up a window, wiggled and squeezed himself out out a window so that he could kill himself over RM2,400 on the day before his marriage registration.

However, the ever helpful doctor did acknowledge that there were no finger prints or shoe marks at the window where Teoh, who may have issues with committement as lamented in so many female magazine artles about men and committement, probably decided death was preferable to changing diapers and hearing the same woman nagging for decades to come.

I have 1 conclusion. I remember there was a talk about having a Witness Protection Act to be enacted. I suppose given the inconsistency with the 3 stories above, WPA is certain relevant and reliable. Cornerstone to a just society is built on many things such as sound laws being enacted, consistent, fair and swfit application of law as well as safety of witness who willingly come forward at their expense to make Malaysia a better and safer place to live in.

It is time we respect willing witnesses, guarantee them safety and dignity to work towards what Islam also advocates, Justice.

Random musing and talking cock about Teoh Beng Hock

A lot has been written about Teoh Beng Hock. I shall not dwell about what has already been written and I will not also blog about the choice words I uttered over the past few days.

Instead, I want to calm down as some "prominent" person has advised the public to do so and try to appraise an administration and its entities funded by tax monies derived from our shrinking purchasing power.

In times of crises, we would expect our civil service and public trust holders to react intelligently, effectively and swiftly for the good of the public. so that they can retain or increase supporters from voters and tax payers.

How did our police do?

http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/info.asp?y=2009&dt=0722&pub=utusan_malaysia&sec=Muka_Hadapan&pg=mh_03.htm&arc=hive

Jangan cetus ketegangan – KPN

The top policeman is more concerned about warning people “creating tension” (please tell me whether it is normal or not to have "tension" whenever there is a death, especially such a gruesome and tragic one) and the first possibility that he singled out was Teoh Beng Hock, a soon to wed father-to-be with many friends and loved ones, would take his own life on the eve of you all know what.

Verdict:
I want a tax refund. Colombo is much superior.

How did the government mouth piece do?

Berita Harian is widely read in Malaysia and plays a pivotal part in shaping public opinion of its readers. If a managing director of a national daily, no less, thinks MACC stands for Malay Anti Corruption Commission, he better has head examined. And I mean the one due north, not south (soft).

And the proud and passionate linguists should decide whether the professional concerned is doing the language a service or disservice.

By the way, going with the fler's argument, consistent with the practices of Malay institutions like Mara, UiTM etc that caters for Malay needs, if MACC is a Malay institution, then it should only be investigating Malays, right?

Verdict:
I hope to appeal for a discount if MACC is indeed for Malays only. I always believe a man can become better if he is self reliant and independent in fending for his own livelihood.

If the editor hails from some local schools, I hate to foot the bill for the education system that produces professional writers of such standard as well as readers who accept without the ability to evaluate the rights and wrongs of whatever that was written.

p.s. Note to Pakatan Rakyat. You are doing the right thing by pointing out that this is not a race issue. However, you are preaching to the converted. The crappy stuff published is meant for the voter banks with access only to controlled MSMs. You chaps are doing well in the existing markets but please mind the part about penetrating into new markets.

How did our leader do?

Fungsi Suruhanjaya Diraja tidak akan diperluaskan

24/07/2009 5:19pm

Consistent with previous rulings like limiting the total numbers of papers our kids can sit for SPM, the BN administration has a tendency to place barriers for Malaysians to exercise their grey matter.

By the way, if we can have 3 in 1 coffee and tea, why the need to have a royal commission and an inquest? Also, why are there restriction imposed that which would curtail the avenue of seeking the right answers to the right questions?

Isn’t that a waste of money? It is better to have a single royal commission of inquiry as a “one stop center” to find out the cause of death and identify areas for improvement in MACC procedures, with a jolly by product of identifying the culprit.

Verdict:
1 is cheaper than 2. Not very prudent in managing our tax money and I rather pay for something else, like contributing to a charity.

By the way, someone miss out big time a chance to come out smelling like roses.

IF A DNA test proves that the late Teoh Beng Hock is the father of Soh Cher Wei’s child, he should be named the father in the birth certificate, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz.

We all know about respecting the dead and not to talk cock about tragic events. This person whom I paid for to look after chairs and tables manage to come up with such a fantastic idea of overcoming existing JPN red tape.

Nazri also pointed out an existing weakness of the birth certificate procedures. We NEVER have a blood test to ensure the nipper is really ours. Hell, I wasn't tested, were you? If Nazri's idea been adopted from day 1, then Michael Jacko would not have such a enduring song to sing “Billie Jean, not my lover, ….and the champs not my son…”

Bravo minister, lets back date your great idea. Let’s test your kids first. It might be a box of chocolate. We never know until we open it up……

#Atuk Nasi, not my lover, he's juz a blur, sayin' that I jumpin' one...but the champs...is my son.#

Verdict:
For once, there comes a great idea from a BN minister. Maybe we should all chip in and have Nazri’s children to be tested to ensure they are really his….
