Bank employees get 17% upwards salary adjustment

The wage negotiation between the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) and Malayan Commercial Banks Associations (MCBA) has been stalemate for years, since the year 2006. Get the latest update here and here. News splashed across the MSM tabloids paint Badawi as mediator and hero, ending the 3-year wage negotiation deadlock. The salary adjustment is 17% for clerical, non-clerical and special-grade staff. Adjustments are estimated to vary between RM4K-RM17K per individual depending on staff grade and service length.

Is Badawi really a hero? The NUBE was originally fighting for a 30% increase in salary not 17%.
