Feedback on Yew Teong Look's rat-catch project

Hard- T analyzes The Star's political-inclined report on the recent MCA rat- catching project in Section 2 Wangsa Maju situation and pushes back a hard question. Fiery comments from Zorro-Unmasked here, which in turn drew other fiery statements from his blog readers.

Reply to The Star article: Residents want to meet MP more often

WELL NO ONE IS STOPPING YOU FROM LOOKING HIM UP!

What a biased piece of news. That was the headline in The Star Newspaper today on M8. I would seriously advise those people if you want to see him, look for him every Wednesday at the service center. Don't give bulls*&t that he's hard to find and never on the ground.

We just saw him last week. Damn it these people PISS ME OFF!

And the part about him only blogging feedback, well I don't know what this Lim Cheng Hock fella is doing or who he is, I don't really care honestly, at least we're getting feedback! Or would you rather have a Houdini MP like Yew Teong Look who I've never heard of lest seen before the 12th general elections. Actually this reminds me of the Chipsmore commercial, now you see me now you don't kind of attitude.

Yeah and I'm a stupid brat who's immature and ignorant, but how come if Yew Teong Look was the MP for the past 4 years I've never heard of any kind of contribution by him? Now he's giving RM2 for rat catching? And whoopie we are going to have a community center and a Chinese school. In the name of politics, how low can you go?

My opinion is, why not fix the current schools?

What is the obsession with chinese schools? Yeah yeah, catering for the chinese community and yadda yadda yadda, but why can't we instead carry out chinese classes in the current Sekolah Kebangsaan's we have? That's what they do in most PJ schools. This would also give a chance for non-chinese who want to pick up the language.

Make no mistake, I'm chinese and personally I'm not against the chinese school system but what is the point of having schools physically but they are not delivering? How are we to create national unity and generations of people to lead the world?

When are we to put away the mindset of I am chinese, my kids have to go to chinese schools, they must not lose their roots and culture. Well I don't know about you guys, but I am Malaysian! Not Chinanese(if there's such a word)

Besides, Wangsa Maju's demographic is mixed, how appropriate is it to have a Chinese school just so we can accommodate the few. Jinjang, Kepong is one of the largest Chinese communities in Malaysia, both their High Schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan, but with Chinese language as one of the subjects. Isn't that a more viable alternative?

And what about fixing the current schools? Let me remind you what we are facing; gangsterism, bullying, discrimination (by teachers) causing unequal opportunities, lack of quality of education , these are all caused by an inept education system which continuously churns out pathetic high-school graduates who either struggle when they go to uni and realize they're not up to par and drop out, or struggle through uni and are unemployed because they're not up to par.

So what about fixing current schools before building more schools which will only be adequate in form but not in substance?

Yew Teong Look's latest project in Wangsa Maju

This piece of news was picked up by huey mei. Interesting. If I had know earlier I would have brought mouse traps to Section 2 Wangsa Maju to earn some extra cash. Thanks huey mei.

Homecoming: A resident returns to Wangsa Maju

...and shares frank thoughts in this mail.

Hi, fellow wangsa majurian.

I am so uplifted to see your blog. Finally someone else who lives within the vicinity of this so called BN stronghold area with a voice!

I recently moved back to Wangsa Maju after 2 years of living in Damansara Utama and sadly, it has not been a sweet homecoming. Although the PJ area is not perfect, but the vast disparity between public safety and community life there compared to here makes me feel like I wished I never came back here.

I started living in Wangsa Maju since I was 6, today i am 22. Although there were a few moves in between I have mainly grown up and spent my childhood years watching this community grow and going to an adjacent school. Ever heard of SMK Seksyen 5 Wangsa Maju?

Today I am in my final year of LLB. In my area on the outset everything looks the same, but the sad fact is it is no longer the warm and friendly SAFE community it used to be.

Besides rising crime rates, the severe conditions of the road has been brought to my notice since about 6 months ago.

It makes me wonder WHAT THE HELL IS YEW TEONG LOOK DOING?IF YOU HAVE TIME TO POST YOUR BN POSTERS ALL AROUND CARREFOUR ,YOU CANT EVEN DO A SIMPLE JOB LIKE JAGA LONGKANG AND FIX POTHOLES?

Yes of course I'm sure he has other things to do, like represent the 'people'. Funny though, any of these people seen him before?

By the way, if you would like more posts please send me a mail and let me know. I am sorry i do not have a current blog due to time constraints but you can look me up in (edited)

I haven't even started yet on how schools in this area are run which is the snowball effect of having an incompetent and racially divisive political party in power.

By the way I am an avid supporter of the Barisan Rakyat and look forward to a day when we are no longer malay, chinese or indian but are one and all Bangsa Malaysia.

Yours truly,

Kell

Poor garbage collection

I thought about blogging about more serious stuff but I have to get this out of my system tonight. And I sure hope Wee Choo Keong catches this posting.

The garbage collection frequency is an issue. If there's a schedule for it, it should be more frequent. Sometimes the collection is 3-4 days once. I get worried because this may lead to health and environmental issues. My rubbish bin has been full and I had to put the garbage bags outside the bin, on the ground.

Get the basics right, Yew Teong Look.

MCA achievements

I picked up an MCA article on their site title 'Teong Look expected to retain Wangsa Maju'. Looks like MCA's using the usual triumph card to do the talking- build Chinese schools, aid to poor-Chinese students, the usual 'list of achievements' (but Teong Look can you provide a list please), closing the gap between the rich and poor and the usual name-calling/ character thrashing of the opposing candidate.

I'm tackling these MCA 'achievements' in my blog to ensure that I'm voting for the right ideology and candidate in the 2008 Elections.

-Building Chinese schools: Hi, taiko- isn't it the Government's responsibility to provide education for all? I hate to mention the word 'race' here- I'm not an advocate of race politics- but isn't it a responsibility to provide education for all races. Anyway, it's an obvious method to fish last minute votes- election in probably in Feb March, announce a new school in January. What happened in the last 4 years. It took so long to 'fight' for a school? So what's the difference between having the MCA and the alternative party in this context. By the way Wee Choo Keong what do you have to say here. If we vote for you- would you fight for education rights as well.

-Aid poor Chinese students: hehe, are there any poor students in Wangsa Maju at all. Maybe not, Teong Look's talking about other constituencies. No, I'm not ridiculing poor people, but aiding poor people is not a hard thing to do. If there's a need, we'll raise our own funds to do it. We just don't want to aid only poor Chinese people we want to aid all poor people. Damn racists.

-Achievements: Hi, taiko- please come forward with your other achievements besides the Chinese school and the poverty thing. The Wangsa Maju people want to know.

-Closing the gap between rich and poor: whatever good UMNO or MCA does (MIC does nothing- maybe jaga Sungai Siput and toll only) is cancelled by the corrupt commissions they receive. Hence the gap will never be closed- rich get richer, poor don't get richer (maybe get poorer too!). We need to vote them out.

I am not trading off my vote for things that are supposed to be done in the first place.

'Call me Choo Keong'

I first met Wee Choo Keong, the PKR calon for Wangsa Maju wakil rakyat at the PKR ceramah in Wangsa Melawati on the 27th February 2008. I must say he's cut a good first impression with his people skills, humility ('call me Choo Keong') and energy. This is the guy I'll vote for. It's not that I can compare him with Yew Teong Look, the incumbent wakil rakyat as I've never got close to him before. Anyway it's too late. I've made that decision. If we need to deny the 2/3 majority, we'd better send in good quality soldiers to fight our fight.
