I wonde...Making new signages generates the economy. I wonder whether Jalan Alor is the only casualty or are the lessor known roads which have had their names changed. I wonder if there's a big road sign project going on...?

'Kejora mali'... sounds like being from a different planet eh. The original colonial road names above actually sound quite cool. Yea, change the road name so that Malaysia has an localized identity of its own but does the roads actually make much of a difference except to hide the fact that we were once 'colonized' by the British. Singapore, our neighbor down south, maintains a sizable number of roads with Malay names, hence they are not hiding the fact that they were once part of Malaysia. Part of Malaysia, and doing better than Malaysia.

Anyway, 'Kejora' sounds horrible- name does not befit road. DBKL, the rakyat does not accept this name change- take it back!resident.wangsamajuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12679072482217684577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7306009336680641277.post-12797936149771083222008-10-21T16:07:00.000+08:002008-10-21T16:07:00.000+08:00Great move DBKL!Just imagine the amount of printin...Great move DBKL!

Just imagine the amount of printing materials that's required to update others for letterheads, business cards, hawker signage, etc.

Somehow, 'Kejora Char Kuey Teow' (with extra seeham) does not have the same taste to me.

And of course, when SYTs sez "Kejora mali" and you'd go "Huh?".shar101https://www.blogger.com/profile/13162891509015955835noreply@blogger.com
